Get Better Data.
Vital Signs is a global, public data resource that is proud to provide open access to all data collected throughout the network. Vital Signs fills a critical, unmet need for integrative, holistic measurements of agriculture, ecosystem services, and human well-being data. Vital Signs data are constantly under quality control review and are available in near real-time.
Disclaimer: Vital Signs data is offered "As Is." The data products are currently in the process of being flagged for poorly entered records. This flagging will be complete in February 2017. Until then, use your own expertise to filter records that may have been incorrectly entered.
You can search and browse all available data within the Vital Signs system without registering. Prior to download you will be asked to register and provide very brief information about yourself and the intended use of the data. Be sure to also download the Vital Signs metadata in order to interpret the variable codes.
In addition to the datasets (referred to above), Vital Signs has produced a series of larger scale datasets for review.
The Vital Signs Data Use Policy provides guidance for data sharing, access, authorship, citation, and restrictions of VS data.
